How long does it take from Miami to Everglades?

Your tour departs from Miami Beach. From that point, you will be driven on a tour of approximately one hour to get to Everglades National Park and the adventure begins....
Everglades Tour Description:

The first thing you will notice when you arrive is the peace that the place offers you. An isolated place from the world, where a human being has had the foresight to protect the ecosystem.

While your airboat is being prepared, you can observe or buy the merchandise available in the store like T-shirts, caps, key chains, etc.

When you hear approaching engines, it means that your boat has arrived or is ready to begin the trip through the “River of Grass”, named by Native Americans in reference to the set of dense channels that meander through and through, forming part of the beauty of the place.

You will go on a ride through the wetlands aboard a hydrofoil, this boat is called like that because of its exposed engine on top; this allows the vehicle to glide through the water without any issues, because if the engine were underneath, it would get stuck due to the lush vegetation.

Get your camera or mobile device ready. During the tour you will be able to observe the wild flora and fauna. Remember that there are no domestic or trained animals here and it is up to them whether they decide to show themselves or not. You will be able to see native animals such as: turtles, fish, frogs, alligators and birds; and even pythons and anacondas, which although they are invasive species, have proliferated drastically in the park and several sightings of these reptiles have been recorded.

During the tour, an expert guide will tell you more about the place, its fauna, flora, main protected animals and the dangers to which this beautiful place is exposed.

When the tour is over, you’ll be given a talk about the hunting methods that the Seminole Indians used to catch alligators, and if you’re brave enough, you’ll be able to hold a baby alligator in your hands. Photography is allowed, so take advantage by showing off to your friends on social media and showing them how you hold an alligator!

You’ll have time to tour the area at your own pace, take photos, walk around, and then board the vehicle back to your hotel. You’ll be dropped off at the same location where you were picked up.

We suggest wearing sunscreen, comfortable clothing, shoes, and insect repellent, especially in the summer (April to November).

Everglades National Park

Discover Everglades National Park, the largest subtropical natural park in the United States. A very diverse place that serves as a habitat for several rare and endangered species. It is considered the best place in America for reptile sightings, such as: American alligators, snakes, birds, turtles, deer, wild boars and even Florida panthers.

The swamp is also known as the River of Grass due to its endless grasslands of cladium that rise between 1 and 3 meters above the water surface. In many cases, the plants are so dense that travel is only possible through water passages. The Everglades’ lush vegetation also includes mangroves, cypress, palm, pine and hardwood trees.

You will travel by airboat, a vehicle designed to operate in shallow waters and swamps. Enjoy a fast and safe excursion, powered by an aircraft propeller.

I don’t normally dare to go to this type of activities, but the group was having so much fun that I decided to go for it. I don’t regret it and I recommend it.

Es la primera vez que me atrevo a sostener en mis manos un cocodrilo y me encantó la experiencia. Lastima que aquí no se pueda compartir la foto. Todo muy bien, esa es mi experiencia en este tour.

What I particularly liked most was that the airboat ride was perfectly executed. There were moments of observation and learning when we were going slowly, but also moments of high adrenaline when the speed increased.
